My next guest on The Richard Robbins Show boasts a resume any real estate professional would be proud of. Keith Roy, Team Leader and Listing Specialist of Keith Roy and Associates, has been a member of the Greater Vancouver Real Estate Board’s (GVREB) Master Medallion Club for 11 consecutive years, is a recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee Medal, Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal, RE/MAX Diamond award and more.
While this interview focuses on how to improve your real estate business with tactical advice from a professional in every sense of the word, it also sheds light on the importance of mental health and having the courage to take time off. Keith put it simply, “Mentally, I was at a point where I was going to commit homicide or suicide.”
Keith took an 8-month sabbatical, bought an around the world plane ticket and left his business in the hands of his teammates. “I needed to step away to gain some new perspective on how things can work, and how I can do it differently and better,” Keith tells me in his beautiful Vancouver home office.
He took nearly a year off from his business and it still performed better than the Vancouver market did. This didn’t happen by chance. His industry knowledge and mastery of his business allowed him to live the life he wanted and Keith shares how you can, too.
In this episode of The Richard Robbins Show, Keith tackles both sides of the real estate battle: agents new to the industry and agents who have been in it too long. He shares how you can properly run your business instead of it running you and explains why real estate is the best industry in the world to work in.
